Why 500 Miles?

The products featured in the Heartland Green Sheets database were manufactured within a 500 mile radius of Kansas City, Missouri (the location of the Mid-America Regional Council). 500 miles was chosen as the distance for a reasonable day's drive to promote conservation of transportation energy and lessen the environmental impact of the building industry. back
